Commissioning a portrait is an investment. An investment that warms hearts, carries tradition, and enriches lives. No matter where you are commissioning is easy.
Here are a few things to know:
Drawings take about three weeks. Paintings three months.
James can travel to you, or, you are welcome to visit his studio.
Drawings cost less than paintings.
Shipping and framing are client’s responsibility.
Residents of NC pay 7% sales tax.
50% deposit requested (required).
Portraits 30 x 40 or larger limited time 2 for 1 special offer.
10% goes to a charity of the client’s choice, or, can be applied to the cost of the portrait. Does not apply to 2 for 1 special offer.
James is a self-representing artist. He does not use a third party or agent to sell his work.
Here’s why James is the right choice:
No agent or third party fees. With an agent the mark up is 20% - 40%.
You deal directly with James. In portraiture it’s best to work directly with the artist.
James stays in contact with you throughout the process. You are never left wondering.
Third party agents/portrait companies are trained in sales. They present the options they “think will sell.” James is trained in art history and what makes a great portrait.
James’ pricing is reasonable.
James’ versatility provides him with the skills to paint anything.
Most importantly James cares about what you want.
